The Baseball Association of Hong Kong, China is looking for coaches: 1) Part-time B5 Coach; 2) Part-time Strengthen & Conditioning Coach, to prepare for and/or participate in the International Baseball5 Tournaments; details are shown below:

Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Part-time B5 Coach

  • Promote Baseball5 to local community;
  • Provide technical and tactical support to the Baseball5 Team of Hong Kong, China (the Team) in preparing and implementing Team Hong Kong, China training on and off the field;
  • Supervise the Team to keep their best physical and psychological conditions throughout the training and games periods for the tournaments;
  • Evaluate and select the best performing athletes into the Team, fine-tuning the training program and formulating game strategies for the games;
  • Coordinate with the Strengthen & Conditioning Coach and respective directors on the scope of work;
  • Complete an evaluation form on team preparation and performance within 14 days after finishing the tournaments.

2) Part-time Strengthen & Conditioning Coach

  • Design, implement and monitor strength, conditioning and injury prevention programs to keep the athletes in top shape;
  • Assist in the rehabilitation program;
  • Maintain thorough medical records on all injuries and rehabilitation procedures;
  • Coordinate with the coaching staffs and respective directors on the scope of work;
  • Complete an evaluation form on team preparation and performance within 14 days after finishing the tournaments.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

1) Part-time B5 Coach

  • Must hold the qualification of Baseball5 Coach and must be a registered Baseball5 Coach of BAHKC;
  • Relevant coaching experience at national team, professional team level or high-performance team is preferred;
  • Good track record of coaching experience at the international competition level;
  • Good knowledge in formulating game strategies, evaluating the performance of athletes and complying with the anti-doping regulations;
  • Good communication and organizing skills;
  • Good command of written and spoken Chinese and English.

2) Part-time Strengthen & Conditioning Coach

  • Valid qualification of strength and conditioning or a relevant discipline is a must;
  • Preference will be given to the candidate holding university degree in sports medicine, strength and conditioning or a relevant discipline;
  • A minimum of 1-year working experience preferably in relevant practical fields;
  • Experience in working with baseball teams is preferred.
 
Terms and Conditions for the Employment:

Both appointed B5 Coach and Strengthen & Conditioning Coach (The coaches) provide the coaching service as a self-employed person and has to comply with the Notes to Coaches and Code of Conduct; to implement the preparation effectively and lead the representing team to achieve the set performance goals.

The coaches are legally responsible for his/her negligence in causing property damage or personal injury of a third party; must insure for Professional Indemnity X General Liability Insurance (專業責任保險及公眾責任保險) during the coaching period.

The coaches have to complete and submit a tax return in accordance with the Inland Revenue Ordinance and fulfil the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Schemes Ordinance to enroll himself/herself as a self-employed person.

Servicing Period:
Year 2024-25 / upon completion of the International Baseball5 Tournaments.

Pay Rates:

1) Part-time B5 Coach
    Preparation allowance is HK$341 per hour, and participation allowance is HK$1,300 per day.

2) Part-time Strengthen & Conditioning Coach
    Preparation allowance is HK$341 per hour

The Association will contact the short-listed candidates for an interview. Interview may be conducted by 2 stages: online interview and/or practical assessment.
