Jockey Club High Five Baseball5 Roadshow



The Baseball Association of Hong Kong, China (BAHKC) will host the 2024 WBSC Baseball5 World Cup in the coming 7th -12th October, 2024 in Central, Hong Kong. The tournament has been recognised as an "M'' Mark event by the Major Sports Events Committee. With the support and donation from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust as our official community partner, the BAHKC will launch a series of activities under the "The Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant: The Hong Kong Jockey Club Baseball5 Community Programmes." It includes the "Jockey Club High Five Baseball5 Roadshow '' workshop, with the aim of visiting primary schools, secondary schools, tertiary institutions and community organizations across Hong Kong to conduct Baseball5 experiencing workshops. We would like to invite all educational institutions and community organizations to participate in this program. Upon completion of the program, our association will continuously assist the participating organizations in developing this sport.

Baseball5 is one of the emerging sports actively promoted by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) in recent years. It has already been included as an official event in the Youth Olympic Games. Its characteristics include simple and convenient gameplay, as well as the ability to develop participants' teamwork and decision-making skills.

Details of the "Jockey Club High Five Baseball5 Roadshow" workshop are as follows:

Workshop Dates: From May to October, 2024 (Actual dates as suggested by each organization and re-confirmed by the BAHKC)
Workshop Duration: Approximately 1.5 or 3 hours (can be divided into 2 to 3 sessions)
Number of Participants: Approximately 30 per class
Course Content: Basic catching and throwing skills; Offensive and defensive concept; Mini-game experience
Venue: Provided by the participating organization, can be held in the hall, basketball court or playground
Fee: Free of charge

Our association will provide the participating organizations with tickets to the 2024 WBSC Baseball5 World Cup, which will be held in Central, Hong Kong, from 7th to 12th October 2024. We will also provide round-trip transportation between the organization and the venue. We kindly request that a portion of the participants (approximately one-third) attend at least one of the competition days/half-days from Monday to Thursday to enjoy the baseball games and support the China National Team’s and Hong Kong, China Representative Team’s athletes.

Furthermore, the "Jockey Club Baseball5 Community Program Launching Ceremony & Xperience Day" is scheduled to take place on 11th August, 2024. We kindly request that each participating organization send at least two representatives (participants or teachers) to attend the event. Further details will be announced in due course.

Please be noted that quotas are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Our association reserves the right to determine the final participating organizations and adjust the dates and times of the activities.
