Re: 2nd Youth Baseball5 Asia Cup 2025 - Qualifier to the II Youth Baseball5 World Cup 2025

The Baseball Association of Hong Kong, China (BAHKC) is looking for a part-time Assistant Baseball5 Coach to assist the Head Baseball5 Coach to prepare for and participate in the 2nd Youth Baseball5 Asia Cup 2025 (the B5 YAC) - Qualifier to the II Youth Baseball5 World Cup 2025, tournament details are shown below:

Tournament Date: 11 - 15 March 2025 (Arrival: 9 March; Depart: 16 March)
Tournament Location: Taipei City, TPE
Delegation Size: Maximum of 10 including 4 male athletes, 4 female athletes and 2 delegate-officials (Head Coach & Assistant Coach)

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Promote Baseball5 to local community
  • To assist the Head Baseball5 Coach, Mr Sergio Arturo Perez Echevarria from Cuba, to provide technical and tactical support to the Baseball5 Team of Hong Kong, China (the Team) in preparing and implementing the Team training on and off the field
  • To assist the Head Baseball5 Coach to supervise the Team to keep their best physical and psychological conditions throughout the training and games periods for the B5 YAC
  • To assist the Head Baseball5 Coach to evaluate and select the best performing athletes into the Team, fine-tuning the training program and formulating game strategies for the games
  • Coordinate with the Strengthen & Conditioning Coach and respective directors on the scope of work
  • Complete an evaluation form on team preparation and performance within 14 days after finishing the B5 YAC.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Must hold the qualification of Baseball5 Coach and must be a registered Baseball5 Coach of BAHKC;
  • Relevant coaching experience at national team, professional team level or high-performance team is preferred;
  • Good track record of coaching experience at the international competition level;
  • Good knowledge in formulating game strategies, evaluating the performance of athletes and complying with the anti-doping regulations;
  • Good communication and organization skills
  • Good command of written and spoken Chinese AND English

Terms and Conditions for the Contract:

The appointed coach provides the coaching service as a self-employed person and has to comply with the Notes to Coaches and Code of Conduct; to implement the preparation effectively and lead the representing team to achieve the set performance goals.

He/she is legally responsible for his/her negligence in causing property damage or personal injury of a third party; must insure for Professional Indemnity X General Liability Insurance (專業責任保險及公眾責任保險) during the coaching period.

He/she has to complete and submit a tax return in accordance with the Inland Revenue Ordinance and fulfill the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Schemes Ordinance to enroll himself/herself as a self-employed person.

Servicing Period:
January 2025 (from the date of appointment) to March 2025 (upon completion of the B5 YAC)

Pay Rates:
Preparation allowance is HK$516 per hour, and participation and overseas training allowance is HK$1,300 per day.
