Annual General Meeting 2012 – Chairman’s Report

I am pleased to report the work and performance of the Hong Kong Baseball
Association (the “HKBA”) for the period 2011-2012, as follows:
HKBA had another successful year in 2011-2012. The number of overseas
tournaments and exchange activities was doubled, with 13 overseas tournaments
and 8 exchange activities. These comprised our first ever participated IBAF 15U
Baseball World Championship (held in Mexico); the Asia Cup (held in Bangkok,
Thailand); the BFA 12U Baseball Tournament (held in Chengdu, China); the BONY
Bronco Tournament (held in Nanjing, China) and the All China Universities Baseball
Tournament (represented by Hong Kong Baptist University). Our Hong Kong teams
played with their best standards in the above games, striving to attain their targets.
Besides baseball games, HKBA sent its directors, committee members and office staffs
to attend seminars organized by IBAF, LCSD, SF & OC, ICAC and local universities and
receive internal training to upgrade their professional standards and update on their
administrative knowledge.
Regional and International Games once again title-sponsored by Asia Insurance. The HKBA
held in Hong Kong successfully invited six teams from Canada, Taiwan, Japan,
Korea and Hong Kong to come to play the Tournament.
The HKBA organized the following regional and
international games in the reported period: Hong Kong V “Youth Zhujiang Cup”
“Asia Insurance Phoenix Cup 2012” Baseball Tournament 2011
Hong Kong International Women’s Baseball Tournament This long living Tournament has been able to attract
HKBA organized its fifth “Phoenix Cup” Hong Kong participation from various Chinese city teams, thus helping
International Baseball Tournament in 2012 which was in the promotion of baseball across the Greater China.
